The Team:
Our Insurance and Actuarial team operates within our Business Consulting practice, enabling you to use your leadership and soft skills to help consult on client engagements and internal projects. We’re currently seeking exceptional people across Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch to join our growing team. We work across the Insurance, Banking and Government sectors.
These roles are well-suited for individuals with a strong desire to grow professionally whilst working in a supportive team environment. We have openings for senior consultants, managers, and senior managers across our team. These roles would suit candidates with between 2 – 10 years of relevant experience.

The Role:
As an integral member of our Insurance and Actuarial team, you’ll provide support on engagements and projects for a variety of our clients. You may be involved in a variety of activities including:
- Interacting with clients, building strong and enduring relationships, while becoming their trusted advisor;
- Working alongside these stakeholders to solve their current and emerging business challenges;
- Being involved in a diverse range of projects, including business transformation, life insurance, general insurance, health and human services, capital and risk management, pricing, product innovation and Appointed Actuary work;
- Helping clients gain fresh insights, think differently, improve their performance, and reach their strategic goals;
- Work in multi-disciplinary teams, valuing and interpreting other subject matter expertise to build new and practical solutions for our clients;
- Interpret results from analysis to bring to light the issues that truly matter;
- Develop relationships across various sectors to work with partners for the betterment of our communities.
Ō Pūmanawa I What we’re looking for
Here’s our ‘wish list’ but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes. We’re interested in your strengths, what you want to learn, and how far you want to go.
- A degree in actuarial studies, mathematics, data science, engineering, science or similar, or equivalent professional qualifications (e.g., FNZSA, FIAA, CFA);
- Proven experience in actuarial, data science, data analytics, risk management or similar, within a corporate, consultancy, government or academic environment;
- A high level of proficiency in two or more computer programming languages such as R, Python, C, C++, Visual Basic .Net, VBA, SAS, SQL etc;
- Strong quantitative and qualitative skills, and able to utilise these to extract and translate valuable insights from large messy real-world databases;
- Experience in using desktop GIS packages and experience in implementing geospatial workflows in code;
- Excited to embrace challenges and exhibit an insatiable appetite for success, even when faced with ambiguity;
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
- Ability and passion for leading and mentoring others.
